After graduation from the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in accounting, Scott, a CPA, went to work in public accounting. His first job took us to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where June completed her degree in Journalism/Public Relations at the University of Texas at Arlington. It didn't take long for us to learn that "big city" life wasn't for us and God opened doors for us to move back to the Northwest Arkansas area. June worked in public relations for a local hospital and then, later, for the hospital's foundation, before becoming a full-time wife and mother. After a couple more years in public accounting, Scott made a move into banking. He spent nearly 11 years in banking, also completing his MBA at the University of Arkansas, before God called us to full-time ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ.
In March of 1997 we attended our very first FamilyLife Weekend to Remember marriage conference. Besides having a significant impact on our marriage, God used that conference and the events of the next few months to make it clear to us that He had a place for us in ministry. We would never have dreamed that we would find ourselves stepping out in faith to leave our career and our comfortable life to begin raising the financial support necessary to become full-time missionaries with Campus Crusade for Christ. But, in October 1997 we attended a 10-day training for new staff, were commissioned as missionaries and began the adventure. God taught us much and worked in miraculous ways over the next 15 months as we saw him assemble a team of committed financial and prayer partners.
In January 1999 we moved our family to Little Rock, Arkansas, and began our work with FamilyLife. Scott served in various positions in the fund development and conferences and events areas at FamilyLife during our ten-year tenure there. June's primary role while on staff at FamilyLife was to be a wife, mother and homemaker. She also served as an an on-site Resource Center Coordinator at Weekend to Remember conferences, helping people find books and other resources
to help them apply at home the principles they learned at the events.
In May 2009, we began another new chapter in our lives as God opened up an opportunity for Scott to step into the role of Business Operations Director at our church, Fellowship Bible Church, here in Little Rock, Arkansas. Since then, June has stepped up in her teaching role at Little Rock Christian Academy, adding teaching Journalism to serving as the school's yearbook adviser.
Hayley is now currently a student at John Brown University "back home" in Siloam Springs, and Kyle is still in high school. God has blessed our family richly and we have much for which to be thankful. We're looking forward to what He has in store for us in the years ahead!
